We are thrilled to announce that Jukay Hsu, our co-founder and CEO, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the New York City Partnership Foundation, the nonprofit affiliate of the Partnership Fund for New York City (PFNYC). With Jukay’s appointment, Pursuit and PFNYC will build on their already successful partnership to connect blue-collar New Yorkers with opportunities in tech and ensure shared prosperity in tech for every New York City neighborhood.
Jukay will bring on-the-ground experience and expertise on inclusive economic development to the Partnership Foundation, which, like Pursuit, is committed to providing opportunities to all New Yorkers. Together, Pursuit worked with PFNYC’s FinTech Innovation Lab to launch Future Fintech Leaders, an initiative that creates new opportunities for Pursuit fellows to become leaders and entrepreneurs in technology. PFNYC’s impact extends to strategic investments that improve economic opportunities and reduce barriers to success in underserved communities across New York City, such as Hot Bread Kitchen, a Harlem-based nonprofit that trains immigrant and low-income women for jobs in the culinary industry, and Grameen America, which provides business loans to women living in poverty.
“Ever since returning to New York City and founding Pursuit, I have looked up to Kathy Wylde, Maria Gotsch, and the entire PFNYC team for the incredible impact they’ve had on our City’s economy and the opportunities they’ve created for the City’s workforce,” Jukay says. “I’m grateful for the mentorship they’ve provided over the years, and I’m honored and humbled to have this opportunity to work directly with PFNYC and members of the New York City business community toward our shared goal of creating a thriving and inclusive economy.”
“Jukay Hsu's commitment to bringing diverse talent into the city's burgeoning tech sector, his entrepreneurial drive, and his expertise in workforce development are an important addition to the Partnership Foundation Board,” says Maria Gotsch, President and CEO of PFNYC. “We look forward to leveraging his expertise as we continue to invest in companies that create job opportunities for all New Yorkers.”
Jukay steps in for the Rev. Floyd Flake, the legendary former U.S. congressman and leader in the Queens community who is currently the senior pastor of the 23,000-member Greater Allen African Methodist Episcopal Cathedral in Jamaica, Queens.
“Rev. Flake is a legend in Queens and a leader in the community who put the borough on the map,” Hsu says. “I will strive to be a steward of his legacy and bring positive impact to Queens.”
